Tis the season for sharing. We have a tradition of making this Pumpkin Pie every year. Its so simple yet delicious, we think the simplicity is what makes is so special! Its really easy to make things complicated when it looks “too easy” or “too simple”

This is something we run into with families. They come in with a crisis of needing to move a loved one right away. In just a few days we have found some great solutions and they are just surprised thinking it was “too easy”. They thought it would be such a burden and stressful to find the right place for mom or dad. We are here to MAKE it as smooth as pie!

Traditional Pumpkin Pie
This perfectly spiced pumpkin pie is the ideal candidate to top off your holiday meal. Make your own pumpkin pie spice by combining 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg and 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves. Make this pumpkin pie using a Gluten-Free Pie Crust, if desired.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 (15.0-ounce) can pumpkin purée or 1 3/4 cups cooked pumpkin
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell (in pie pan)
    Method

    Preheat oven to 375°F.

    In a large mixing bowl, whisk together brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice and salt.

    Whisk in eggs, then add pumpkin, whisking until smooth.

    Gently whisk in half-and-half, then pour filling into unbaked pie shell and bake for 45 minutes, or until set around the edges. Cool before serving.
