Holiday Tips for Seniors

Fall Season Is Here, In More Ways Than One

By November 6, 2020 No Comments

The weather is changing, the nights are cooler and the sunrises are even more beautiful. Holidays are coming upon us, what does this mean? More time with the family, seeing grandma and grandpa, aunts and uncles.

During the holidays it is very important to make it a point to see how your elderly loved one is doing, are they able to cook on their own, keeping up the house, maintaining some kind of socialization?

2020 has been a historical year for social isolation that effected everyone in a negative way. When it comes to our seniors, this couldn’t be more true. Social isolation has already been a talking issue with regards to the elderly. Senior care and senior living can not be canceled or put on hold.

With everything going on, it is more important than ever to ensure our elderly are in a safe environment getting care and socialization. Be on the look for the following:

  • Is their personal hygiene declining?
  • Are they eating properly?
  • Are they managing their medications well?
  • Are they frail and at risk of falling?
  • Is the house a mess, rotten food or dirty clothes around?
